A woman was found dead today in the 500 block of the Fallsway, on the patch of grass at the intersection with Centre Street, Baltimore police said.
According to Officer Paulo Pereira, police received a report from a passerby at about 3:30 p.m. that a woman was lying in the small park often frequented by homeless people.
The location is just south of the city’s main homeless shelter, the Weinberg Housing and Resource Center, known informally as “Code Blue.”
By about 4:30 p.m., three Baltimore Police Department cruisers were still in the area, along with several officers.
Pereira said he could not provide a name or cause of death, but said the woman was “in her early 60s.”
Asked if the woman was homeless, he said, “Probably.”
